Swing Dance: Lindy Hop Beginner Lesson

The Breakaway's Thursday beginner lesson covers the six-count Lindy Hop basic, rock step, and two or three fundamental partner moves in the first hour of the evening before the floor opens for social dancing, giving beginners a real chance to practice with the experienced dancers who make up the regular Thursday crowd. The instructor rotates partners throughout the lesson so everyone practices both leading and following, and the live music and DJ nights attract some of the best swing dancers in the East Bay. No partner or prior experience is needed.
