Private Glassblowing Class

In this private glassblowing session at John Mooney's Venice studio, you work directly with John through the full process of gathering molten glass from the furnace, shaping it on the steel marver, blowing and expanding it using a blowpipe, and finishing your piece with hand tools before it goes into the annealing oven to cool slowly overnight. Beginners typically make a paperweight, a stemless wine glass, or a small vase in their first session, and John adjusts the project to what you can realistically accomplish. The studio is three blocks from the Venice boardwalk, and the molten glass glows at over 2,000 degrees, which makes for a memorable couple of hours.
